NYSUT Endorses Senator Clinton

NYSUT Endorses Senator Clinton

U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton received the endorsement of the New York State United Teachers, the state's largest union, in her bid for re-election during NYSUT's annual convention in Rochester May 5.

"Hillary Clinton has been with us on our issues - education, health care, labor and the concerns of working families - during her six years in the Senate and before that, in the White House as First Lady," NYSUT President Richard C. Iannuzzi said at the convention. "This was a very easy decision for us."

Senator Clinton, who is heavily favored to keep her seat, addressed the crowd. She also said in a statement that she was "delighted to receive this endorsement." NYSUT Executive Vice President Alan Lubin said financial, organizational and human resources would all be made available to the Senator's campaign.
