'Holy Name' To Honor Hayden

The Manhattan/Bronx/Staten Island chapter of the Fire Department Holy Name Society will hold its 82nd annual communion mass and breakfast April 23 at St. Patrick's Cathedral beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Following the mass, which will be conducted by Cardinal Egan, participants will march to the breakfast at the nearby New York Hilton Hotel, led by the Cathedral All Girls High School Marching Band.

The guest speaker at the breakfast will be Long Island Congressman Peter King, who chairs the House of Representatives' Homeland Security Committee, and the guest of honor will be FDNY Chief of Department Peter Hayden. Also honored will be retired Lieut. Raymond Callinan of Ladder Co. 17 and retired Lieut. Thomas Westman of Ladder Co. 108, who gained fame as the winner of the "Survivor" competition on the CBS-TV program of the same name.

Those interested in attending should send a check for $35 per person, payable to the FDNY Holy Name Society, to Chris Ward at 1811 Pettit Ave., North Merrick, N.Y. 11566.
