Mayor Crossed Line

To the Editor:

Transit workers day in and day out run the subways and buses, doing all of the dirty work that goes with the job. They take all kinds of abuse, sometimes getting hurt, and some have been killed.

The workers did not rob anyone or steal anything. Mayor Bloomberg owes every one of them an apology for going on TV and calling them thugs. Mr. Mayor, you owe me an apology. My son works for Transit, and I did not raise a thug.

MARY HAYDEN

Editor's note: Ms. Hayden's son, Calvin, is a New York City Transit Property Protection Agent.
